About Root Canals
We do root canals on all teeth, including second molars on adults and children. Root canal procedures are performed to relieve tooth pain or resolve an infection. Dr. Horcha strives to make the patient as comfortable as possible during a root canal. When possible it will be performed in a single visit depending on the level of infection. Treatment is to preserve infected teeth to prevent removal. Our effective root canal treatment can help to defend against the need for implants, a bridge, or a denture.
Apexification Services
Apexification is when an immature adult tooth has become infected and needs medicine to continue to mature. Apexification is a method of inducing a calcified barrier at the apex of a nonvital tooth with incomplete root formation.
Apexogenesis treatment
Apexogenesis refers to a vital pulp therapy procedure performed to encourage physiological development and formation of the root end. Apexogenesis encourages an injured but not infected young permanent tooth to continue to develop naturally with the help of medicated filling materials. The goal of apexogenesis is the preservation of vital pulp tissue so that continued root development with apical closure may occur. This therapy may help with the long-term prognosis and health of the tooth.
